Meet the Team
We're a small, dedicated crew with a genuine love for plants and gardens. Everyone on our team has their own story — and their own reason for loving this work.
Heather
Heather learned to love plants from her mother, a passionate gardener who shaped her earliest memories of the outdoors. That love grew into a business when she started Heather's Gardening Service in June 2021 as a summer job, and it's only grown from there.
Self-taught and hands-on, Heather brings care and attention to every garden she works in. In April 2023 she became a parent, and her daughter is already following in her footsteps. She is curious about every plant she meets.
Each with Their Own Story
Colette
Regenerative Farming & Culinary Medicine
Originally from Nova Scotia, Colette spent years as a professional chef before her path led her to a farm and botanical gardens on Vancouver Island. She has also worked in landscaping in Vancouver, and now brings that wealth of knowledge, and her passion for homesteading and sustainable, farm-to-table living, to every garden she touches.
Colette is joining us for her third season in a row and we are so glad to have her back on our team.
Hannah
Gardener & Graduate Student
Hannah is completing her master's degree at the University of Alberta in economic development and international trade. As if she's not busy enough, she also maintains 24+ houseplants at home. She brings contractor experience in gardening and landscaping for residential complexes, and like so many on our team, her love of plants started with her mother.
We are very happy to have Hannah join our team for the second season in a row!
Helane
Small-Scale Farming & Sustainable Food
Helane recently relocated to Edmonton last year after spending years living off-grid in rural BC. She brings over a decade of small-scale farm experience, focused on sustainable food production. Her travels and work across Canada have given her a broad, grounded perspective on what it means to care for the land and the people who depend on it.
Larissa
Design, Psychology & Plant Collecting
Born and raised near Edmonton, Larissa comes from a background in design and planning for commercial interiors. Larissa knows how to see a space and imagine its potential. Now pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology, she's a passionate plant collector who loves landscape design, home canning, and the ecofeminist idea that we are deeply connected to the land around us.
