Meet the Team
We're a small, dedicated crew with a genuine love for plants and gardens. Everyone on our team has their own story — and their own reason for loving this work.
Heather
Heather learned to love plants from her mother, a passionate gardener who shaped her earliest memories of the outdoors. That love grew into a business when she started Heather's Gardening Service in June 2021 as a summer job, and it's only grown from there.
Self-taught and hands-on, Heather brings care and attention to every garden she works in. In April 2023 she became a parent, and her daughter is already following in her footsteps. She is curious about every plant she meets.
Each with Their Own Story
Annabelle
Garden Care Specialist
Annabelle has been working with and passionate about plants since she started her gardening journey working at the University Botanical Gardens in 2023, and has developed a passion for helping people experiment and grow in their own backyard! Annabelle loves all things outdoors and is an avid hiker, camper, and outdoor rock climber. She is currently completing a bachelor's degree in visual communication design at the University of Alberta, and loves to combine her eye for detail with her creative side.
Cody
Grounds Maintenance Specialist
Hi, I’m Cody. Raised on a farm in Southern Alberta, I spent 30 years working in the oil fields before bringing my hands-on background and strong work ethic to Edmonton. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working in groundskeeping at a prestigious local retirement community. I take immense pride in caring for our outdoor spaces—especially when it comes to detailed pruning, trimming, and shaping hedges, trees, and plants to make the grounds beautiful and enjoyable for our residents.
Outside of work, I love staying active and helping others. My favorite ways to spend free time include fishing, golfing, discovering new local restaurants, traveling, and going skydiving whenever I get the chance.
Colette
Regenerative Farming & Culinary Medicine
Originally from Nova Scotia, Colette spent years as a professional chef before her path led her to a farm and botanical gardens on Vancouver Island. She has also worked in landscaping in Vancouver, and now brings that wealth of knowledge, and her passion for homesteading and sustainable, farm-to-table living, to every garden she touches.
Colette is joining us for her third season in a row and we are so glad to have her back on our team.
Helane
Small-Scale Farming & Sustainable Food
Helane recently relocated to Edmonton last year after spending years living off-grid in rural BC. She brings over a decade of small-scale farm experience, focused on sustainable food production. Her travels and work across Canada have given her a broad, grounded perspective on what it means to care for the land and the people who depend on it.
Larissa
Design, Psychology & Plant Collecting
Born and raised near Edmonton, Larissa comes from a background in design and planning for commercial interiors. Larissa knows how to see a space and imagine its potential. Now pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology, she's a passionate plant collector who loves landscape design, home canning, and the ecofeminist idea that we are deeply connected to the land around us.
Meaghan
Nursery & Garden Specialist
Meaghan is the newest member of our team.
Growing up in British Columbia, Meaghan loved visiting her grandmother on Vancouver Island. These trips always included a visit to Butchart Gardens which grew her love for flowers and the beauty of nature from a young age. Now, as an adult, Meaghan’s love for gardening has only grown- being outside in the garden is her greatest joy (outside of her three children, of course!). For the past three years she has worked in a garden centre and enjoys all that that entails- watering, pruning, deadheading, and all! When she isn’t chasing her children around, you’ll likely find her in the garden. Meaghan’s greatest memories come from sharing beautiful moments with friends and family in the great outdoors. She is passionate about creating peaceful spaces to be proud of and enjoying them with loved ones
